What are the graphics hardware requirements for Presenter?
Presenter is an advanced graphics application. It combines your standard 2D PowerPoint content with audio, video, and real time / interactive 3D content. It relies upon the same graphics hardware that is required to run modern computer games. That hardware is not expensive or hard to find, but it is specific. Presenter requires a DirectX9.0 compatible graphics processor with at least 512Mb of dedicated graphics memory. We also recommend a dual or quad processor and 2Gig of memory or more.
For multiple projector or sterescopic 3D output, you will likely need to use Presenter in conjunction with Matrox TripleHead2Go or DualHead2Go hardware, or Nvidia's Mosaic Technology or AMD's Eyefinity.
Why are the graphics requirements so high?
Presenter takes full advantage of the huge graphics hardware advances that have been primarily driven by computer games. It does so in ways that deliver the value of that hardware uniquely to the business media, presentation, and digital signage market.
The graphics hardware required to run Presenter is not expensive, but it is specific. The cheapest laptops and the thinnest and lightest laptops often will not run Presenter effectively. Desktop systems may require a graphics card upgrade.
Will Presenter run with Intel graphics?
Instant Effects Presenter will run on the latest Intel graphics systems. Those are so-called "integrated graphics processors". In general they will be slower than discrete graphics processors that have their own dedicated graphics memory. Intel HD3000 or higher graphics will typically provide acceptable performance and quality results with Instant Effects Presenter. We don't recommend running Event, S3D, or Master Presenter with Intel integrated graphics processors.
Does Presenter benefit from a fast CPU or dual processors?
Presenter is more dependent on the graphics processing unit (GPU) than it is on the central processing unit (CPU). That said, if you are integrating lots of video, audio, and other 3D content you will definitely see a benefit from dual and quad processor systems.
How do I find out if my system run Presenter?
The best way is to run the
free trial version of Instant Effects Presenter with your own representative content.
